How it all started

Hi, I’m Gina — the creator behind The Travel Pin!

My business actually started by accident over 11 years ago. I was searching for the perfect anniversary gift for my husband. We’re both huge travel lovers, and having just returned from living in Australia, I wanted something that would help us remember all the incredible places we’d visited. A world travel map with pins felt like the perfect idea — a beautiful way to relive our adventures and dream about where we’d go next.

Every pin tells a story — a memory, a moment, a piece of the world that stays with you forever.

After experimenting with different printing techniques, I finally created a map I absolutely loved. Once it was hanging on our wall, friends and family couldn’t stop commenting on it and asking where they could get one too! That’s how the idea for selling personalised travel pin maps was born.

A friend and I started making and selling the maps from London, but as life changed — and after my husband and I moved back north to start our family — it became harder to keep things running from different cities. We decided to take a break while we both raised our young children.

Fast forward a few years, a few more adventures, and a lot more stamps in our passports — I found myself missing that creative spark and the joy of helping other travellers capture their memories. That’s when The Travel Pin came to life.

Every map I design is made with love, care, and a deep appreciation for what travel means — the stories, the memories, and the shared experiences that make life richer. I truly believe in pinning your memories to make them last a lifetime.

I hope you love your map as much as I love creating them. They’re designed to be timeless, durable, and beautiful — a keepsake to treasure for years to come.
