Below you’ll find answers to the most common questions about my personalised travel maps, framing options, delivery, and more.

About Our Maps & Personalisation

  • Each Travel Pin map is a high-quality printed world map that’s ready for you to add push pins to mark places you’ve visited or dream destinations. You can also personalise the key (for example, “Visited,” “Future Trips,” “Wishlist”) and add custom text (name, quote, etc.).

  • We offer three sizes for our world maps: Medium (70 × 50cm), Large (84.1 × 59.4cm), and Extra Large (100 × 70cm). Pick a size that fits your wall, room, or framing preference.

    For our UK Maps we offer 30 × 40cm, 40 × 60cm and 50 × 70cm

  • You can choose from Black, White, or Oak frames, or go unframed if you’d prefer to source your own frame or use a different display method.

  • Our maps are printed on premium, thick matte foam board with fade-resistant inks. This durable product can take push pins without damage, while still preserving the visual quality.

  • Yes — every map order comes with a full set of coloured push pins so you can begin plotting your travels right away.

  • Absolutely. If you want a bespoke map design — for example, focusing on Europe, Africa, or a custom region — just get in touch via email and we’ll discuss your idea and quote.

  • Yes. We will send you a digital proof of your personalised map for approval prior to printing. You can check spelling, layout, colours, and wording at that stage.

Ordering, Shipping & Delivery

  • We offer shipping services to all locations throughout the UK, ensuring your order arrives safely and promptly.

  • Because each map is made to order, production usually takes 12 days (depending on the workload). After that, shipping takes 2 days. You’ll receive tracking information once your order ships.

  • Maps are carefully wrapped, buffered with protective material, and boxed with reinforced corners to protect the frame in transit.

  • If your parcel is delayed or lost, please contact me at gina@thetravelpin.co.uk with your order number. I’ll investigate with the courier and, if necessary, arrange a replacement or refund.

Returns, Exchanges & Quality Issues

  • Because each map is custom made, we cannot accept returns or exchanges for personalised items unless there is a defect or error on our part.

  • I’m really sorry to hear that! Please email me within 5 days of delivery with your order number and clear photos of the damage or error. We will arrange a replacement or refund right away.

  • We take great care to double-check all details before printing, and you’ll receive a digital proof to make sure everything looks perfect. Once your proof is approved, we’ll print exactly as confirmed — so please take a moment to check spellings carefully before giving us the go-ahead.

Display, Care & Durability

  • All framed maps come with two hanging hardware pre-installed hooks on the back, so you just need a wall nail, screw, or hook to mount them securely.

  • Yes! The unframed version is perfect if you already have a frame you love or prefer a custom style. The foam board is 5mm thick so ensure your frame can hold that width.

  • Keep your map out of direct sunlight and avoid excessive humidity — this helps preserve the colours. If dust accumulates, gently dust with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use solvents or sprays directly on the print.
